love was in the air for Kian and Jodi
Love was in the air as Kian and Jodi jumped WESTLIFE singer Kian Egan and
girlfriend Jodi Albert pledged their love for each other before their charity
parachute jump last week. And model Jodie, who had tried to talk her
popstar boyfriend out of the daredevil stunt, ended up jumping first.
"I shouted to her 'I love you, babe' and she looked back at me and said 'I love
you too, babe' and that was it - she was gone," said Kian. In his first full
interview about the jump in Co Offaly, Kian said that, even as they were driving
to the airfield near Edenderry, Co Offaly, Jodi was adamant she wouldn't join
him in the flight without wings. "But Jodi is a spontaneous type of person and
when we got to the place and she saw all the experts there, people who knew
exactly what they were doing, she said 'OK, why not?' and she went up in the
plane with me," he told Ocean FM.
The jump, also done by three friends who surf with Kian near his home in
Strandhill, Co Sligo, was to raise funds for earthquake and tsunami victims on
the Indonesian island of Java.

Westlife attacked by two ton rhino
POP idols Westlife fled in terror when they were attacked by a giant two-ton
RHINO. The horned beast charged the four horrified singers at a safari park. And
only the quick-thinking of their guide saved the Irish quartet from disaster.
The ordeal began for Kian Egan, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily and Nicky Byrne as
they toured Knowsley Safari Park in Liverpool. Their car startled a 15ft-long
white rhino - and the brute rampaged towards them. Park boss David Ross slammed
his foot on the accelerator and sped off with only seconds to spare.
He said: "It certainly caused a bit of excitement in the car and we had to beat
a hasty retreat. The rhino was sweltering in the heat and I think we got a bit
too close." He added: "The boys fully enjoyed their trip - even though it
was bit frightening." White rhinos are normally gentle vegetarians who
almost never attack humans. But the rare animals still account for about 100
deaths a year worldwide.

Flying without wings
LOOK who's Flying Without Wings...it's WESTLIFE star KIAN EGAN. The singer has
been a high-flyer in the charts so many times that I'm sure this parachute jump
was a breeze. He was raising cash for the Indonesian Earthquake Fund and managed
to get over £7,000. Kian was joined by his gorgeous fiancée, ex-Hollyoaks
actress JODI ALBERT. He told me: "Jumping out of the plane had me sweating
but it's an amazing rush." Westlife? More like Zestlife

'Don't go flying without wings Kian!'
BEAUTY JODI'S SKYDIVE FEARS. Byline: By PADDY CLANCY
WESTLIFE star Kian Egan's terrified girlfriend Jodi Albert has begged him not to
do a skydive. The star signed for the charity jump in Co Offaly on Wednesday but
now Hollyoaks star joined Kian's mum in trying to talk him out of it. Kian, 26,
revealed: "When I told her I was definitely doing it this week she wasn't happy
about it.
"She wanted to know what would I do if something went wrong. She agreed I was
doing it for a good enough reason - to help earthquake victims in Java - and she
told me to make sure I got enough money for them." The Flying Without Wings star
also revealed his mum Patricia failed to talk him out of it. She gave me an
earful," he said. "She only found out when she read the local paper. I told her
even if I wanted to there was no way I could pull out now.''
Kian and three surfing mates will each be strapped to an experienced skydiver
when they leap from a plane and freefall for almost 10,000 ft. They will reach
speeds of 180 km/h before the parachutes are opened to slow down for the final
5,000 feet. The dive, for which Kian hasn't yet started his training, comes down
near Edenderry. He said: ''It will be the first plane I've ever taken off in
that I won't land in.
"That idea quite nervewracking. I want to know as little as possible about it
until I'm in the air and the door opens and I get pushed out.'' Kian is likely
to be strapped to top sky-diver Roger Killeen, a veteran of 5,000 jumps in 14
years. Roger laughed: ''All he has to do is smile, have fun and don't get sick."
The dive is in aid of the Strandhill Indonesian Relief Fund (SIRF) set up by
Kian's surfer pals Allan Mulrooney and brothers Barry and David Mottershead.
They were in Java on holiday last year and were moved by TV pictures of the
earthquake there in May. Over a couple of pints they decided to help. Kian's
three Westlife colleagues, Mark, Shane and Nicky are sponsoring his jump. Kian
said: "Nicky was for doing it but when I told him I could actually arrange it he
backed out.''
