A STAR-COVERED car amazed Sheffield's ultimate Westlife fan Leanne Knowleswhen she found her early 21st birthday present was plastered with the faces of her Irish idols.

Leanne, who isn't actually 21 until September, was presented with the customised car by mum Maxine in time for the show by her heroes at the Sheffield Arena on Sunday.

"It was mum who arranged all this," said Leanne at the family home in Moorthorpe Way, Owlthorpe. She said: "I already had my Vauxhall Corsa as an early birthday present but it had problems with its exhaust and she said it had to go into the garage to be fixed. A call came that it was ready to be picked up, and we went, and I saw it on the forecourt and I said, That's not my car! I couldn't believe what had happened to it. But I love it so much. My friends have seen it and they are astonished too. Nicky's my favourite band member and so he has pride of place on the bonnet. But they're all great."

Maxine is keeping quiet about how much the unusual artwork cost, but its believed there wasn't much change from £1,000. The car has turned heads wherever Leanne goes, and she says it wasn't long before she was stopped by the police – but only because they wanted to take photos of the customised creation! The Corsa was also the centre of attention when Leanne went to the Arena for last weeks Shayne Ward show. Leanne works at a wholesale warehouse – but says following Westlife is her real job. She's been a fan for more than 10 years, when the band was first formed, and has seen them in concert countless times since then. Leanne even got to meet the lads four years ago when she was ill in hospital. She was disappointed that shows in Nottingham and Manchester had to be cancelled due to illness in the band, making the Sheffield date even more important – although she is off to shows in London and Dublin. She said: "I camped out to get tickets for Sheffield and I was in the very front row. I took the car of course – I'm so proud of it, I just cant put it into words."

WAYNE ROONEY has persuaded Irish band WESTLIFE to sing at his wedding to COLEEN MCLOUGHLIN.  The Man United ace, 22, was desperate to book her favourite group after they were unable to make her 21st birthday last year.  The June 14 wedding at La Cervara, Italy, coincides with a break in their touring schedule.  A source said: “Some of Wayne's team-mates gave him a bit of stick but he knows how much Coleen loves them.”

Westlife reach Ulster half century

POP megastars Westlife will perform their 50th show in Belfast later this week. The group will reach a significant landmark at the Odyssey arena on Wednesday evening in front of their adoring Ulster fanbase. The quartet - Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan and Nicky Byrne - kick off their two-day visit on Tuesday, having already played to capacity crowds on three occasions at the same venue in February. Local revellers can expect their heroes to entertain them with the usual ballad of number one hits and renowned anthems.

The dates in Belfast will be a prelude to a special concert in Dublin marking 10 years of the pop group. A sold-out crowd of 82,300 will celebrate the bands achievement at Croke Park on June 1. The band have announced their current Back Home Tour will be followed by a well earned break as they focus on spending more time on the production of their tenth album.  Westlife have sold 40 million records worldwide and among their list of many accolades is the record of having the most consecutive number ones in the UK. Their latest visit to Northern Ireland comes as fellow Irish quintet - Boyzone - returned to Belfast on Sunday. The group who completed their first public concert in over eight years at the Odyssey, will re-appear on Monday evening.

THEY were expecting a night of sing-alongs and screaming, but thousands of Westlife fans who turned up in Nottingham last night were left disappointed. The band was due to appear at the Trent FM Arena but the show was cancelled at the last minute due to illness. Both Shane and Nicky are ill and doctors advised them not to perform for at least two nights. As fans turned up they were met by stewards with leaflets explaining the cancellation. Many, like mother and daughter Judith and Kirsty Wright, of Wetherby in Yorkshire, had travelled for several hours to get to the show.

Judith, 47, said: "Were a bit disappointed. We left home at noon and were booked in to a hotel so its all a bit of a waste The tickets were presents from my son, so its a real shame. I know they will reschedule but I dont know if we will be able to take the time off work again." Jodie Bough and Charlotte Carrington, both 19, of Jacksdale, were looking forward to seeing the band for the seventh time. Charlotte said: "Were gutted. "When we got out of the car we thought it looked a bit quiet and we joked that it must be cancelled but we didnt really think it would be. Its such a disappointment."

In a statement, the band said: "We are very sorry to have to postpone these shows at such short notice, we apologise to all our fans, and we cant wait to get back out there and put on a great show for you. Hold on to your tickets and well see you soon." The tour will resume in Birmingham on Thursday. Fans with tickets for last nights gig will be able to transfer them to a rescheduled date later in the year.

Westlife - The Autobiography

The biggest pop band in the world celebrate 10 years at the top – telling their full story in their own words for the very first time. Westlife have had more number ones than any other artist apart from The Beatles and Elvis and with songs that have become modern classics like Flying without Wings, they have ensured their place in the annals of pop history.

Westlife – The Autobiography will chart the highs and lows of their phenomenonal career and a unique friendship that has seen them endure as a band for an extraordinary ten years. The book will chronicle the band’s story from the grass-roots of Sligo, Ireland to multi-platinum records, celebrity collaborations and chart achievements. But bubbling under this public face is a private and unseen story never before recorded, crammed with candid personal revelations, including of course the departure of Brian McFadden.

Westlife have been a staple part of British entertainment for years, yet the public has no idea of the astounding life they have led – and still live – behind the headlines and soundbites. Here, for the first time, Westlife will take us into their confidence and reveal their lives and amazing ten year journey as the UK’s biggest pop band as never before
