SIRF would like Westlife fans to help

As a lot of you may know Kian did a parachute jump for a charity named SIRF (Strandhill Indonesian Relief Fund) last August and raised a lot of money. The charity is working in Indonesia to rebuild kindergartens destroyed by the earthquake there last year as well as provide other aid to the communities and the members of SIRF, Allan, Barry and David went out there last August to start the first school which has been completed and they're working on the 2nd one now

SIRF would like to build 8 more schools this year and are raising funds to do so, along with the help of Kian and the other lads. They would love the fans to get involved with fundraising too - with the hope of eventually naming a school after Westlife which would be amazing - both for the band and the fans who have supported them.

So if you'd like to raise funds for SIRF or even just learn a little more about the charity please go to www.sirf.org and have a look... it explains what they are doing and how you can download a fundraising pack to help out.

Brian working with Mark

April 20th marks the release of the new single from Ireland’s most controversial pop star, Brian McFadden. Having spent much of the past year in the dark of the studio, but never far from the limelight, Brian’s self-penned song is the first track from his second solo album.

“Like Only A Woman Can” is an open and frank love-song to someone who has helped the writer find redemption. ‘It is a song about Delta’, explains Brian, ‘but equally it’s me admitting the mistakes of my past, while looking forward to the future’.
In recent months Brian has collaborated with numerous luminaries including Paul Barry (Enrique Inglesias/Cher) and Phil Thornalley (Natalie Imruglia/The Cure). The net result is a more mature artist than we have previously known. Brian claims that he has never been happier and more focussed. “Right now is the best place I’ve been in my life. I’m really enjoying writing and recording the album and personally things have never been better!”

Apart from his success as a recording artist McFadden can feel justifiably proud of his achievements as a songwriter. With solo records reaching Number 1 in UK, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Holland Belgium and Australia, he has also been critically recognised with his song ‘Demons’ being featured in the U.S. TV series ‘Lost’. In addition, Brian has also written songs for artists as diverse as Il Divo and Girls Aloud, as well as the theme for the Theme for the Commonwealth Games.

Future projects include further writing with Delta Goodrem, a collaboration with Westlife’s Mark Feehily as well as the completion of the new solo album and the development of the BMF label internationally. “I admire artists like George Michael who had the guts to establish their own identity in the business and that’s what I aspire to do”.  Although McFadden’s name appears on over 50 million CDs throughout the world, he stresses that this release means most to him. “I am proud of my past, but I’m really excited about my future”.

Egan to enjoy a backpacking honeymoon?

WESTLIFE hunk KIAN EGAN wants to go backpacking on his honeymoon, because he's fed up with staying in luxurious hotels. The 26-year-old Irish lad is laying down marriage plans with long-time girlfriend JODI ALBERT - and he wants to keep everything really simple. He says, "We'd probably prefer a tropical-style wedding. I'd like to get married, have a year off and go travelling. "When we travel with the band, we go first class and stay in fancy hotels. I'd like to rough it up a bit and backpack."

Brian McFadden dropped by record label

Brian McFadden has been dropped by his record label because of disappointing album sales. The 26-year-old left Westlife in 2004 and quickly signed to Sony BMG to pursue a solo career.

His debut single 'Real To Me' reached number one in September of that year, but his most recent single - 'Everybody's Someone', a duet with country singer LeAnn Rimes - failed to crack the top 40. Heat reports that music manager Louis Walsh, who manages Westlife, might be planning to work with McFadden in the future.

Feehily not ready for marriage yet

Irish pop star MARK FEEHILY has no plans to marry his boyfriend KEVIN McDAID yet. The WESTLIFE singer has been dating former V boy band member McDaid for two years. Feehily says, "We're not at that stage yet. It's definitely not something I'd rule out but it's just not something we've talked about. We're extremely comfortable with each other in our relationship.

"Believe me, if we ever decide to get married, I'll be shouting it from the rooftops."

SIRF ad in upcoming Westlife tour magazine

As many of you know, Westlife have played a huge part in SIRF’s success to date. Since our formation last year, they have stood by us supporting our every move. They first presented us with a platinum award disc which was auctioned on eBay for over €1000. SIRF then hit the headlines when Kian Egan and his gorgeous girlfriend Jodi Albert jumped from 13,000 feet in a charity skydive to raise awareness for the cause. Mark, Shane and Nicky all sponsored the day bringing vital funds to SIRF which helped to build the first Kindergarten.

Some unsuspecting women got the fright of their lives when Kian was auctioned off at SIRF’s “Man Auction” last August and a lot more women were kicking themselves for missing the occasion. Kian has also spoke on SIRF’s behalf on many occasions never hesitating to take a radio or newspaper interview. They have also been there on many occasions to offer their advice and help to SIRF when ever needed. It is safe to say that SIRF would not be where it is today without their help and support.

This time around the lads have offered SIRF a full-colour advert in the upcoming Westlife tour guide that kicks off in the UK very soon. This will surely bring much-needed publicity to the cause and help to spread the word of SIRF’s work in Indonesia.

I'm Kian on phone sex

GORGEOUS Jodi Albert has revealed how she and boyfriend Kian Egan enjoy X-rated phone sex. The brunette beauty said the couple have racy late-night calls whenever they are apart. And it's not just the joy of text - the pair spice things up with saucy photos. But when things get too hot to handle she jets out to her boyfriend's side to act out their phone fantasies.

Jodi, 23, said: "We send each other pictures on our phones and talk every day and night, and sometimes I'll fly out when Kian's on tour for a holiday."  She added that because of their busy work schedules the couple can go for weeks without seeing each other. So they rely on sizzling calls to keep their love life alive. And it certainly seems to be working - Jodi, who foun fame as Hollyoaks honey Debbie Dean, has been dating the Irish boy band singer for four years.

She admitted it was "lust at first sight" when she met Kian, 26. But the lads mag favourite insisted she didn't care about the Sligo star's playboy reputation.  Jodi claimed Kian is not a heartbreaker, adding: "Anyone who knows Kian knows his playboy reputation is rubbish. He'd never mess a girl around or treat them like notches on his bedpost. If he did I would not be going out with him."

In fact gorgeous Jodi said she wants other women to fancy Kian - because it proves Westlife are still popular. She added: "He gets a lot of attention. Young girls scream, 'I love you Kian' - I think it's great because it shows that people still care about Westlife. I'm glad other women fancy my boyfriend." Bookies are already offering 9-1 odds that the loved-up couple will wed this year.

Speaking to Take 5 magazine, Jodi admitted she does want to marry. But she denied claims they are to wed in the next 12 months and said the sound of wedding bells are still a long way off. She added: "We definitely want to get married in the next couple of years but at the moment we're busy carving out our careers."

And when the big day comes around Jodi wants it to be a "classy" affair. In an apparent swipe at other showbiz ceremonies, she vowed there would be no thrones. She said: "When the time comes I want to have time to plan a classy, elegant wedding. I won't be wearing a big meringue though. I don't aspire to be a Westwife or a Westlife WAG. I aspire to be Kian's wife."
