Pop Guru describes Westlife's continuing success as amazing
Westlife manager Louis Walsh has praised the staying power of his boyband Westlife. He never thought they would last this long.Westlife are currently enjoying the success of their second best-selling album, Face to face, but Walsh reckons they are still hungry for more success. He said: "It should be all over for a boyband at this stage of their career, but Westlife are getting bigger. They're going to be working even harder this year. They're set to record their eighth album after the tour and the aim is to break new territories like Canada where they'll be working in June."

Walsh amazed by Westlife's longevity
WESTLIFE manager LOUIS WALSH is surprised the Irish boyband is still thriving,
because he never expected their careers to last longer than a couple of years.
The group is currently basking in the success of the second biggest album of
their career, FACE TO FACE, but pop guru Walsh insists they are still hungry for
fame. And he hopes a new transatlantic tour in the summer (06) will expand their
fan base even further. Walsh says, "It should be all over for a boyband at this
stage of their career, but Westlife are getting bigger. "They're going to be
working even harder this year. They're set to record their eighth album after
the tour and the aim is to break newterritories like Canada where they'll be

departure from the band affected them all... Westlife are household names in the
UK, and it looks like they're well on the way to being household names in
Australia too! Their new album
'Face To Face' has become their first No 1 album in Australia, while their
stunning single 'You Raise Me Up' has just made a giant leap from No 40 to No 8

Westlife work magic Down Under
Irish sons Westlife blew Aussie fans away when they tried their hands at playing
the didgeridoo at a packed-out gig Down Under. On a promotional tour for their
album, Face To Face, which is riding high in the charts with sales of 1.5
million, the boys from Sligo flew into Sydney this week to a rapturous
reception.
"We're having a ball here and the fans are going mad for us,"
enthused an excited Shane Filan. "We've been mobbed everywhere we go and fans
have even been trying to break into our hotel rooms." The fresh-faced lads are
hoping the wave of enthusiasm sweeps them to their first Australian number one
with You Raise Me Up. To ease the rigours of life on the road, the band - who
are also due to play Canada this summer - arrived with their significant others.
Nicky Byrne was accompanied by his wife of two years Georgina, daughter of Irish
Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. Meanwhile Kian Egan is travelling with his live-in
girlfriend, Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert.
Since Brian McFadden's shock departure two years ago, when pop critics predicted
the band's demise, the boys have rallied to go on to bigger and better things.
Mark Feehily says Brian's decision gave them "the kick" they needed, adding:
"It's our nature to be hungry. We always aim higher, no matter how much success
we have.

lads' version of his song The Dance. Says a spy: "He's given them his full
backing, the song's going to be big." The year's shaping up well for the
lads, who are in Australia where Raise Me Up is about to go to No. 1.

The lads down under
WESTLIFE will become the Wizards Of Oz this week when they top the Australian
charts for the first time. The Irish lads are heading for No1 with their hit
single You Raise Me
Up after a huge promotional tour Down Under. Speaking from Australia, Shane
Filan told the Irish Daily Mirror: "We're having a ball here and the fans are
going mad for us. The single is doing really well and we're crossing our fingers
for a No1 hit. We've been mobbed everywhere we go and fans have even been trying
to break into our hotel rooms. We've been asked to do the biggest TV shows in
Melbourne and Sydney and got a great reaction on them."
And we can reveal the group are releasing a cover version of Garth
Brooks's The Dance as their next single in Ireland and the UK. Shane, 26, added:
"We have recorded it and it's not even on the album so this is a big
surprise for fans. Garth has been in contact with us and says he's never heard
such a good version of the song. He wants to come and meet us and may even
appear at some of our shows in the future and sing it with us. We think
this could be one of our biggest hits ever and we can't wait to get back
to Ireland and release it. We've recorded three different versions of the song
for the single including an acoustic one. I think the fans are really going to
like this."
The band -Shane, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne and Mark Fee-hily - have sold out a UK
and Ireland arena tour that kicks off this month and will also hit Canada for
their first series of concerts in the summer. Manager Louis Walsh said: "The
boys are hungrier than ever for success and they are doing really well all
around the world. The success in Australia has been amazing and their latest
tour is shaping up as one of their most popular ever."
The lads waited seven years to conquer Australia, concentrating on
European countries first. During their last tour they performed in sold-out
arenas in Germany, Sweden, France and Belgium.

his girlfriend Jodi Albert. The singer fell for the former 'Hollyoaks' actress
during a holiday in Barbados and they have been inseparable ever since. He said:
"We're joined at the hip and we're massively in love with each other. We just
bought a place together which we're decorating at the moment."
Kian admits he thinks of Barbados as the couple's special place. He added to
Britain's New magazine: "The beaches are fantastic, the water's great and I love
being in the ocean. We stayed in our hotel most of the time but it was a lovely
