The best thing about Christmas is the TV

WESTLIFE singer NICKY BYRNE is aiming to spend the festive period in the comfort of his living room chair - watching an endless stream of classic movies on TV. The Irish star's annual Christmas ritual is to take in film after film - an activity that can only be rivaled by the unwrapping of gifts. He says, "The best thing about Christmas is all the presents and the films that are on the telly. All the movies that are on like Star Wars and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Home Alone, Superman, Back To the Future, Superman. I love all that."

Westlife in the fast lane

WESTLIFE are planning a world tour to celebrate their tenth anniversary. Kian Egan, 27, said: "2008 is probably our biggest year to date.

"It's 10 years since we got together, so we've got a big tour starting in Northern Ireland in February and then we go to the UK. We could take in Europe, south-east Asia, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. The offers are there and we are just trying to fit it all in. We also have a special one-off show taking place in Dublin on June 4." The full interview with the Loife will be aired on Christmas Day on Magic FM.

Westlife singer Mark opens up

Its takeb three years but Westlifes Mark Feehily and boyfriend Kevin Mcdaid feel its time to reveal all. The couple had previously shied away from talking about their relationship publically, reportedly turned down numerous magazine deals and TV appearances. Mark met Kevin, former member of now defunct boyband V, at a charity pop gig in Dublin. After striking up a drunken conversation they took each others' number and it was Mark who sent the first text.  Kevin told Attitude magazine: "I was texting him back taking the p**s. Westlife were rehearsing for a tour and one of the costumes was like workmen".  Mark replied: "The Kwik Fit Fitters. He was taking the piss out of me for my dodgy outfit but he’d dressed up as an ice cream man for one of his performances. I quite liked the Kwik Fit Fitter outfit, actually."

The pair now feel they'll stay together for life, but if you come across Mark, don't ask him about civil partnerships - he's fed up of being asked.  Mark said: "At the start I used to think it was a topical issue because of civil partnership, which I think by the way sounds like a f*****g operation or something. It’s marriage, you know? It sounds like a lung transplant." Kevin added: "I think we’ll look into it in the future. At some point in our relationship we’re going to want to basically celebrate being together. And it is a good excuse for a good old shindig isn’t it?"
