JORDAN stunned the audience at the recording of Westlife's ITV Christmas
special by performing a note-perfect version of When I Fall In Love. The lads had
been worried that Jordan would hijack She's The One, which is being screened on
December 11, but Simon Cowell insisted she go on the show.
After seeing her performance on the programme - which will also feature
Hollywood star Kevin Spacey - even they conceded she'd done a good job. "She

She's the one
Jordan is launching her singing career in a live television
performance. The 26-year-old glamour model will sing Nat King Cole classic When
I Fall In Love on Westlife's Christmas special. The Sun says Jordan, real name
is Katie Price, would be accompanied by a 41-piece orchestra.
Jordan has been receiving professional training since March and will be one of
four celebrities to sing on the programme on December 11.The show is being
produced by Simon Cowell's company, Syco.
Cowell vowed to help Jordan break into the music industry after she appeared on
I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here. An insider told the paper: "Westlife
needed convincing when they learned she was to be on the show.
"They didn't want to be embarrassed by a second-rate performance.
"But Jordan really delivers. She sings live, solo, and she's amazing."

Kate Bosworth made a sizzling red carpet solo entrance in Leicester Square at
the premiere of Beyond The Sea, in a sheer black Yves St Laurent cocktail dress.
Boyfriend Orlando Bloom also attended the star-studded gala, but opted to arrive
later in order to not to steal Kate's thunder.
"It's her night," said the 27-year-old actor, adding, "I came tonight just to
support her. She's fantastic in this film."
The film, which features Californian Kate as the wife of Fifties singer Bobby
Darin opposite Kevin Spacey, has been touted as an early Oscar favourite. Other
guests at the gala screening included EastEnders star Barbara Windsor, Casualty
actress Sarah Manners and Westlife.
At a post-screening party Kevin Spacey got in the Bobby Darin mood, singing a
duet with the boy band. Beyond The Sea has been a labour of love for
multi-talented Kevin; in addition to singing all 18 songs on the soundtrack, he
produced, directed, co-wrote and starred in the film.
"Bobby Darin was one of the greatest entertainers the world has ever known, and
yet, because he died young, he's been kind of forgotten," he explained.

The Irish lads also performed tracks from their new album, Allow us to be Frank,

Celebrity feuds: Jordan v Westlife
She's never been their favourite person - but now it sounds like Jordan is
really about to step on Westlife's toes
Fighting talk: Earlier this year, stories were rife that Jordan was in talks
with pop guru Simon Cowell about landing a record deal. 'I've heard her and she
can sing,' said Mr Nasty at the time. 'I couldn't personally do a record but I
wouldn't rule anything out.' Simon, of course, is a big cheese at BMG - the
record label which also looks after...
Westlife. The boys have just released their latest album, a Rat Pack tribute
called 'Allow us to be Frank'. Part of their promotion for the new CD includes
an ITV1 Christmas special called She's the One, which will be screened after the
X Factor final on 11 December. So we're talking big viewing figures, folks.
With a celebrity audience lined up - and Kevin Spacey booked as special guest
crooner - the boys have understandably been excited about their Christmas show.
Erm, until now, that is. Because despite saying in August: 'I'm not going to be
working with Jordan,' it looks like Simon Cowell has changed his mind. Yup, he's
recruited the former glamour girl to perform the evergreen classic 'It Had To Be
You' on Westlife's show - and the Irish foursome are distinctly less than
thrilled about it.
One of the reasons is likely to be that Jordan used to have unrequited crushes
on two members of the band, Kian and Mark. 'She said [Kian] was gorgeous but he
was scared witless by her,' says an insider. 'He just ignored her but it was
embarrassing.' Things got so bad that a year ago, the lads took the step of
banning Jordan from their album launch party.
Punch-up power: 50 per cent - being where she's not really wanted has never
stopped Jordan in the past, fellas!
It had to be her: We're not sure what we're looking forward to more on 11
December - hearing Jordan singing a jazz classic, or watching the fixed smiles
on Westlife's faces when she does.

Boy band's TV war with Jordan
WESTLIFE are furious that Jordan is trying to steal their thunder on their ITV
Christmas special. The boys are hosting She's The One, which will be screened
after the X Factor final on December 11, and performing songs from their
fantastic Rat Pack album, Allow Us To Be Frank.
The four lads will sing in front of a celebrity audience and have even persuaded
Hollywood star Kevin Spacey to croon Beyond The Sea, a hit for Bobby Darin, who
Kev plays in a new film about the US singer. But their BMG music label boss,
Simon Cowell, is so fixated with Jordan, sorry, Katie Price, that he has
recruited the 26-year-old to sing the evergreen classic It Had To Be You on the
show.
Earlier this year, Simon said he'd help "guide" the former topless model with
her singing career. "I've heard her and she can sing," he said. "I couldn't
personally do a record but I wouldn't rule anything out." We've also heard
Jordan blast out a few tunes and, believe it or not, she's not half-bad. But the
Westlife lads aren't thrilled that she'll be singing on their big TV special.
It probably doesn't help matters that she used to have crushes on Kian Egan and
Mark Feehily, and pestered Kian for dates last year.
"She bombarded him with messages but Kian was having none of it," says an
insider. "She said he was gorgeous but he was scared witless by her. He just
ignored her but it was embarrassing."
Bandmate Mark was also a target. A few months after she tried her luck with
Kian, she revealed she fancied Mark, too, saying: "He's gorgeous. I like
immaculate-looking pretty boys." A year ago, the lads took the step of banning
her from their star-studded album launch for Turnaround. Kian and Mark haven't
seen their unwanted admirer since.
But when they record the show at the LWT studios on Sunday week, they'll be
forced to come face-to-face with the mother-of-one. Surely her fiancé, Peter
Andre, will be happy to smooth things over

Westlife "banned aid" row
Irish stars left off Christmas single Westlife say they have been snubbed over
their bid to contribute to the new Band Aid 3 single.
Britain's biggest-selling chart group - who have enjoyed a staggering 13 No.1
hits - are fuming over a decision by Midge Ure to leave them off the latest
version of Do They Know It's Christmas? The Irish superstars still haven't given
up hope of being asked to take part - but Midge is believed to have ruled them
out of his plans.
Singer Nicky Byrne admitted he still didn't know whether the band would be asked
to sing on the song which is being recorded this weekend, but says he remains
hopeful. Nicky said: 'I haven't heard much about it. Our manager Louis Walsh has
been looking into it.
'If we can be involved it would be fantastic. These are records people remember
for years. I was five or six years of age when the first Band Aid came about.
'I can still remember the concert at Wembley. I'd be very happy if Westlife
could get involved.' The original single was recorded by almost 40 pop stars 20
years ago.
But Ure, who co-wrote the song and is masterminding the latest release, is only
inviting his favourite acts to take part. He has already asked Travis, Noel
Gallagher, Coldplay, Keane, The Darkness and a host of others to record the
single. Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich has been enlisted and Dido, Beverley
Knight and Jamelia are all on board.
But Band Aid founder Midge is determined that Band Aid 3 will be a credible
piece of music rather than the bubblegum affair Stock, Aitken and
Waterman-produced Band Aid 2.
Ure admitted: 'I want the cutting-edge artists of the day. I want to see Keane
down there, I want to see Snow Patrol down there, I want to see all the stuff
that I like listening to. And Franz Ferdinand, obviously, being a bunch of
Glasgow boys, I'd like to get them on board.
'I was after The Streets as well. They've seemingly been approached and shied
away from that kind of thing - but we're going back in again because it all adds
huge strength to the entire project. Goldie Lookin' Chain and The Streets
together - that could be fun.' The former Ultravox lead singer will not be
approaching veteran singers such as David Bowie, George Michael and Phil Collins
- all of whom contributed to Band Aid and Live Aid.
Midge revealed: 'Originally they wanted to re-mix the Band Aid song but I'm a
purist and I told Bob Geldof just to leave it alone and said that I was happy to
have it re-recorded.' The first two people on board were Fran from Travis and
Chris Martin from Coldplay. Midge said: 'They're the new guys and it seemed only
natural to have them on board.
'We don't want the old crowd - Sting, George Michael, Bananarama.
'I think the only one we could have back is Bono, because who else could sing
that line but him?'

A WESTLIFE gig hit a snag when band member Shane Filan was struck down by a

but just hours before the show his back just locked up.
The band - whose album Allow Us To Be Frank came out yesterday - were all set
to sing to a sell-out crowd as part of Radio City FM's birthday bash at
Liverpool's Empire last week.
A source told us: "It was looking touch and go. The guys are such
professionals they were desperate to get out there and perform, but poor Shane
was really suffering." In a bid to get the 25-year-old singer back to full
health, organisers rushed in an emergency masseuse.
"She arrived with just half an hour to spare, but she worked wonders," says
the source. "Shane's back pain disappeared and he was able to join the lads on
stage for the gig."
Along with bandmates Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Nicky Byrne, Shane performed
a set from their new Rat Pack covers album.
An insider at the event said: "The lads were great. It was hard to believe

BOYBAND Blue have attacked their chart rivals Westlife for being boring.Blue,
who release their greatest hits album this month, say they are taking their
break from the band after next year's tour because they couldn't bear to 'plod
along' like the Irish crooners, down to four after Bryan left. Now, now boys!

Stars win surprise awards at radio station's 30th birthday party night
FOOTBALL legends Kenny Dalglish and Howard Kendall, singer Gerry Marsden and comedian Ken Dodd were among an influential line-up receiving "outstanding contribution" awards from Radio City. The accolades were presented in front of a 2,800-strong crowd at the station's 30th birthday celebrations at the Empire theatre. Entertainment was provided by chart-topping acts including Irish boy-band Westlife, Rachel Stevens, Daniel Bedingfield, Pop Idol finalist Darius, former All Saint Shaznay Lewis, Mobo finalist Lemar and Lisa Stansfield.
The evening was hosted by Radio City breakfast show's Kev Seed and his counterpart from Magic 1548, Phil Easton. The Liverpool radio station sprung surprises when it revealed its own birthday honours to unsuspecting recipients. Liverpool and Everton football club veterans Kenny Dalglish and Howard Kendall were called up on stage to receive outstanding contribution awards for services to their respective clubs. Singer Gerry Marsden was presented with an equivalent award for music, Ken Dodd won a prize for comedy and wheelchair-user Michelle Lewis received an award after she raised nearly £2m for disabled charities. Proceeds from the gala were donated to the station's Give A Child A Chance charity.

He's still
Kian
LOOKS like singer KIAN
EGAN isn’t too bothered his girlfriend was spotted bouncing up and down
on another bloke’s lap last week. The WESTLIFE
star was chewing the face off girlfriend and Hollyoaks star
JODI ALBERT as they went out for a
romantic evening at Liverpool’s Baby Cream bar. Just a few night’s earlier – at
the National Television Awards – she was happily jigging around on EastEnders
actor JOE SWASH’s knee.
Kian is either very open-minded or knows she won’t escape again with a lip-lock
like his.
