Security Is Tight At Nicky's Party
A ring of steel will be put around the unlikely venue of the
Grand Hotel in Malahide this evening for the super-swish 30th birthday
celebrations of Westlife star Nicky Byrne. Hailed as the showbiz party of the
month, the northside venue will be awash with familiar faces from the world of
showbiz and entertainment. Although he turned the big 30 yesterday, fun-loving
Nicky wanted to have his party on a weekend night so everyone could really let
their hair down. And given that he has signed a lucrative deal with Hello
magazine to cover the event, security will be extra tight.
More than 300 guests are invited, including all his fellow boyband pals like
Shane Filan and his wife Gillian, Kian Egan and fiancee Jodi Albert alongside
Mark Feehily and partner Kevin McDaid. Also there will be Ronan Keating and wife
Yvonne and Nicky's in-laws Bertie and Miriam Ahern, as well as Cecelia and
boyfriend David Keoghan.

Celebrity chef Dylan gives Westlife Nicky a generous helping
of abuse
Although it seems the most unlikely scenario in Irish showbiz, it appears that
the knives were out between celebrity chef Dylan McGrath and Westlife star Nicky
Byrne recently. The Diary can reveal that the pair became embroiled in a
"bizarre" verbal exchange after an encounter in the VIP area of Krystle
nightclub, which has set tongues wagging. A well-placed source placed the
blame for the exchange firmly at the feet of the feisty Mint restaurateur,
saying the Michelin-starred chef may have stirred things up with the
chart-topping singer.
Nicky, dad to twins Rocco and Jay, was out celebrating his fifth wedding
anniversary with wife, Georgina, alongside his famous in-laws Bertie Ahern and
ex-wife Miriam, when the incident occurred in the Harcourt Street hot spot.
"Nicky and Georgina had been having a really lovely evening before this
happened. A big gang of them went to Thornton's restaurant beforehand and had a
gorgeous meal before deciding to continue the party in Krystle. They had a table
reserved in the corner of the club and Nicky was just sitting there, minding his
own business and having a few quiet drinks with pals when Dylan walked over to
him. He said something like 'I know your face, I recognise you from the
telly—you're famous or something, aren't you?' but was being quite aggressive.
Nicky initially ignored him but Dylan wouldn't let it go. Eventually, one of
Nicky's friends stood up and told them just to leave them alone, that they were
just enjoying a night out. At that stage, things got a little physical and a
punch was thrown."
The club's security staff were quick to react to the situation and managed to
calm things down between the two parties. Yet the whole encounter left a bad
taste in Nicky's mouth and he eventually decided just to call it a night and
leave. Afterwards he privately told pals that the incident had put a dampener on
what should have been a night to remember for him and his wife. "He said what
made the whole thing so upsetting was that it was a really special night for him
and Georgina, which they were enjoying with their families when the incident
happened. In the end, he decided the best thing was just to go home as he wasn't
sure if Dylan would just start up again or not, but he was really shaken by what
happened. He has never got that kind of treatment before from someone he doesn't
even know."
When contacted about the incident, the celebrity chef played down what happened.
He told the Diary how he "couldn't say anything about it" before adding how he
had "no problem" with the boyband member. A Krystle spokesperson confirmed there
had been an incident between the pair, but it had been swiftly dealt with.
Meanwhile, the Diary can also reveal that Nicky has signed a deal to feature
photographs from his 30th birthday party in a UK glossy

Loved Up Marks Night Out On The Sauce
IT'S not often this private couple are seen out together, but
WESTLIFE singer MARK FEEHILY and KEVIN McDAID made the most of it. The lads
enjoyed a boozy night out in London's Soho and somehow Kevin's hair managed to
stay like that all night. I'm not sure sure which super-strength product
he was using, but it certainly did the trick. I bet it's a nightmare to
wash out, though...

Vicky will be right on queue to hear her heroes going live
CYNON Valley's biggest Westlife fan Vicky Jones has pledged to
be at the ”front of the queue¢ when their eagerly-anticipated new album is
released next month. 10 Years Of Westlife: Live At Croake Park, hits the shelves
on November 24. “I cannot wait – it will be so exciting,” said Vicky just after
she gave herself a special 40th birthday present this year – a giant tattoo of
the band on her back! Vicky, of Abercwmboi, spent 16 hours under the needle
having the four faces of the band members etched on her body. Vicky, a mother of
four, has seen 300 Westlife concerts and counts herself as their greatest fan.
“My children reckon I am crazy but the tattoos are fabulous,” she said. “All my
money goes on Westlife – about £4,000 a year. I must be their biggest fan.”
Singers Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan added their
autographs recently and Mrs Jones then had them inked over onto her back,
underneath their portraits. Her daughter Stacey, 18, said: “I am not that keen
on Westlife at all – mum¢s too obsessed if you ask me.” Vicky's husband Colin,
42, is also not a big fan of the band. “He can't abide Westlife – but he doesn't
say a lot,” said Mrs Jones.

Shane On TV This Weekend
