On a visit to posh Dublin store Brown Thomas, the `life went on a mega spending
spree. Shane spent more than £20,000 on Gucci goods for his girlie,
Gillian; Bryan brought more than £5000 of baby clothes for Molly, and Kian blew
£20,000-plus on togs-plus £10,000 on shoes! And Mark wouldn't even say how much
he spent! 3/5/02
SHANE FILAN
Filan has a reputation as a big spender. He drives a £180,000
Ferrari Spider, a BMW sports 330 convertible worth £40,000, a £55,000 BMW X5
jeep and a £30,000 Mitsubishi Pajero.
Westlife lands £20
million record deal 10/02
According to The Sun, BMG signed the boys to a 5 album
deal worth £20million (roughly $30 million). Shane is quoted as saying,
“We’re not going away — we’ve hardly started yet. We’ve literally just signed
after negotiating for six months. There’s plenty to celebrate but we’re not
going to go mad. I’ll save some money for a rainy day, when I’m really old, like
35 or something! We’ve worked really hard for the past few years and hardly ever
seen our families.”

Horses?- stuck for summit to do? well its neigh bother to our Shane who
loves to nip off down the auctioneers to buy and sell posh horses! At last count
his parents kept 72 of the critters on their stud farm.

sparkler since Shane proposed in Dubai at Christmas
Cars - He's Westlife's fastest mover - and Shane lurves buying fancy
cars! As well as a BMW and a Ferrari, Shane splashed out on another two classic
cars, a corvette and a thunderbird last year! |
Is he free with money or a bit of a
meanie?
Nicky: "He does spend it, but he's not too free with it - he's sensible."
Mark: He's a very generous person and he's very fast
to buy a round of drinks. If we go into a bar for just one drink, Shane will
always be the one to pay. He's quite happy to spend his money. He's not as
extravagant as Kian when it comes to shopping, but he does enjoy it and he
gets quite choosy about the clothes he wears

There are a lot of myths about being in a boy band. I know some people think
we don't have any money and it doesn't help that I was once quoted as saying I
was so skint I had to borrow a fiver off my mum to go to the cinema! The truth
is we get paid wages, the same as in any job. The first thing I rushed out and
bought when we got a record deal was my BMW, which I love. Trouble is, I don't
get a chance to drive it because I'm never at home! I visit it once a month -

Shane : I try to invest our money the smartest way possible. I’ve bought a couple of houses that I rent out, and I’ve also opened a few clothes stores which my sister and wife runs for me.

Shane: I bought a beautiful BMW. When I first got it, the lads pilled in with me
and we rolled the windows down and went cruising.
Bryan: Shane's having a love affair with that car! The other day, he phoned home
and made his dad start the engine, so he could hear it purr!

splashed out on a £3,000 Rolex watch after an exchange rate mix up. Shane,
who has just turned 21, meant to spend £2,000 on the watch on a recent
trip to America. He said 'I bought a Rolex and I thought I was saving money' |

Shane Filan has ran up a huge bill of £30,000 talking to his love Gillian who
is Kian Egan's cousin. The hit maker admits to talking to his year-long lover, at
least 5 times a day. And when the boyband are on tour the phone bill can run
