TOUR REPORTAGE

BIRMINGHAM  23rd May
Dame Hilda - Site webmistress

Front row!!!!  - yes I know I will harp and carp on about it – but as this experience hurt Dame Evadne’s pocket…I bloody well going to cherish this for a very long time! Huge thanks to both the dames (Evadne and Doris for this shared experience) and also to Bex and Soobs for being nutters! Also, just to put you all in the picture, read Bex's NON - Wembley tour report!

As I always say ‘you should try everything once in life ‘and I DO mean that in a non-sexual way! Well, thanks to Evadne’s generosity (and the screwing sods on Ebay ) that’s exactly what I got. To talk about this tour report, we really have to go back to the beginning – ie. The day before, when a couple of dames and a couple of mates sloped off to a ‘ 5 star unnamed hotel ‘  ( those of you we met know where I mean, but as I feel the lads need some peace I shall not name in a public site ) mind you – this rather depends on the private emails I receive to how much this information could cost you! JOKE – honest. So do pop over to fan meet and read up – a dames day out ( make that a weekend!)

Meanwhile, here a tour report in the offing. Filling a mini bus with mad fans we tore off to the arena, now joined by Dame Doris…who brought me the most lovely gift…. (Which I will scan and show you all soon * snigger* as it’s most apt for me!) About 8 of us fell out the van – after I’d had a semi stroke at price…and bartered the bugger down a tad!  ( £20 quid to be precise….*blush* and p.s. a couple of you owe me a fiver PML – but as I was high on life and happy – I’ll remind you for life of my rare generosity! Thankies to Bex, Deb. Dame E and Lesley for offering donations fast! After all – I should have offered on the house but I’m partially Scottish as well as Irish – infact – I am just a mongrel through and through! ( no sarcy comments please)

After my wonderful experience at Manchester, can I mention that Birmingham is small in comparison! I obviously am spoiled now as – Everything up north is better!  (Although I do like some things from ‘down south’) A warm and sympathetic hello to Corinne, who – as a total stranger was a poppet beyond belief, and alas, had some sad news by the end of the evening  - dame thoughts go out to her. Bearing in mind she almost recoiled in shock at my loudmouth brash northern humour, she appeared to withstand my onslaught well considering.

Us 3 – dame H + D + E skipped to the front row, leaving our pals a few rows behind (Yes – I did have to mention it lol ) I have never seen so many familiar faces on front row! Helloooooooooo  Platties! Oh my – I am starting to worry about – how big a fan I am becoming! I have to say that I soaked up the tour support. There was a nice young chappie from…one of the bands that ‘gave me his all’ Aha – Niall from 247 – Lovely friendly/ performing boy….*sigh* but I am far too old for all that drooling! But I do have the evidence of him winking at me! Mind you, I am now starting to think he could have been smothering a laugh…Bearing in mind that I had leapt from my seat to photograph the tour supports for our site pages, and I was whooping like an idjeet with all the excitement flowing in my veins ( along with the quart of vodka …)

Quick update - after craning through tour support pages .....it appears that I was gawping at sub bass 5 - LOLOLOL and the fella has no name - cos i cant find any info on them...so - short dark cute band member - with a sniff of a  goatie - takes a nice photo!

Bellefire were, as normal, wonderful, and I sang along to every song ( oooops maybe a tad embarrassing for them to have a shrieking old fan in front of their nose, camera at the ready ) But I was thinking of the site, rather than my street credibility! Dear Annie of the ‘tag board’ texted us to say hello – so we leapt from our seats to wave back – I do hope you enjoyed yourselves gals – because HELL YEAH! We certainly did! I think I bored the poor stranger next to me – yabbering in excitement ( or maybe that was the half litre of vodka that loosened my tongue ) Yet again, my photographs are a combination of sheer fright / camera shake / and alcoholic shudders!!

I have to comment that Nicky smirked at me ….*thud* – although I am not a mad Byrne fan – I will admit that the boy puts on a show!  Entertaining he most certainly is….and rather a sexy little piece ( OMG did I just type that? Methinks I’d best up the hormone replacement patches or mebbe invest in bromide…..) He wasn’t the only Westlifer to be putting a show on…. so did Mark but that’s more to do with him not zipping his fly up fully * blush * - I didn’t like to mention at the time….. Somehow I found myself photographing him madly…I would like to say that it was for Dame Evadne and Bex because they – as a twosome – would lick the poor boys boots… but I am ashamed to say – he was looking good! And after the ‘rather amazing crave later that night’ I could  grow to love him! ( for his wonderful personality I hasten to add )

Shane – as ever – was the most consummate performer, when I finally flicked my tongue off the floor….and out of the way of the camera lens, I gained some rather wonderful photos.  As I mentioned, it’s rather hard to do a full tour report as I was in a state of shock. I never thought the day would come when I would announce….I shrieked so hard my voice is croaky! One of the wonderful things about having already seen the show a couple of times *cough* 3 times actually – is that I was aware of the lads next move….and move they certainly do! (all a bit too much at my time of life… but it sure beats bingo!)

Well I did my best to keep you informed (and my heart in my ribcage) There are a million concert photos to add, plus some craven pics! What more can I say – except that I pity people who went to show on the Monday night because…*cough* Irishmen do like to party! And us dames actually went to bed later than them! HA see! We have stamina  - if nothing else at our time of life!
