FAN GREET SOMEWHERE IN WARWICK

BEX

DAY 2

Ok woke up in early hours of the next morning with severe headache & dehydration like never before – managed to grab a couple more hours before Dame Hilda kindly knocked the door for breakfast.

Made our way to the restaurant (I insisted on shuffling) and was surprised to receive a sort of standing ovation on entrance. Found it very alarming how many of the staff came to say hello and more to the point how many hung over golfers & business men as well. There was one gentleman in particular who told us that he felt exceptionally rough so he could only imagine how we was feeling!!! The problem being here that he seemed to know us but to this day none of us can recall how come.

Finished eating & decided to go outside for some air – boy did we need it.

Whilst outside we stumbled across Mr Feehily’s glass that he hid in the bush the night before – Dame Evadne managed to squeeze it into her handbag – well as we were all giggling over this Oliver (Mr Feehily to all others) happened to wander outside.

Well I politely smiled over (as you do) and was pleasantly surprised when

This wasn’t just polite chit chat by the way – he took our names, telephone number told us details of Mark’s flight and showed us Colin’s mobile phone – covered in beer design lol and we have been invited to call in on our forthcoming trip to Sligo – yes our own personal invitation.

See tour report for concert part of the day.

On arriving back at the hotel after the concert the first person we saw yet again was Oliver at the bar – no surprise that him or us was there!!!

I had received some sad news at the end of the show and I would just like to say how lovely he was to me over it and how much of a star he was in talking to us even when people were waiting for him to leave – in fact I think he would have been happy to stand there all night bless him.

Later that evening after most fans had gone to bed we were sat talking with Dave and a couple of others when I decided that I was going to go for a little walk up the corridor – I hadn’t got very far when on my heels was Dame Hilda – think she thought I had fallen or something, any way there was a bloke walking in front and I told Hilda it was Nicky Byrne as I would know that arse any where. Did she believe me did she heck as like, she thought I was mistaken in my drunken stupor but who was the drunken one.

Any way we returned to our seat and after getting another drink was told the bar was now closed – horror – it was only just gone 2 o’clock in the morning. On hearing this I asked if anyone wanted me to fetch the vodka – Dame Evadne declined as she needed to drive early next morning but Hilda was gonna join me for a drink so off I tottered.

Did I make it did I hell – I was walking along minding my own business when this drunken person came screeching upto me demanding my irish flag – yes Nicky Byrne I am talking about you. Well I said he could borrow it if I could have a cuddle & a pic & he said we had a deal – unfortunately he was being a bit loud & security noticed he was not where he should be and so came hurrying over – however I am happy to report I got a big hug, my pic and yes I did lend him the flag.

Ten minutes later however we were still without a drink so I said I would definitely fetch it – couldn’t resist poking my head round their corner to say hello when I walked past though and was surprised to be greeted by big hello’s from not only Nicky but Mark & their two friends. I asked Mark if he had received our presents and with that he was up out of his chair & stood talking to us. Now I am not sure who was the drunkest – Mark or us three because by now I had been joined by Hilda and Evadne although Hilda was on her knees (I always knew she secretly worshipped him).

Well the charm oozed out of him, he was sooo lovely to us all and we had a couple of real funny laughs with him. Evadne had given him a piece of the moon & as most people know Mark already has a star so I told him I had some dirt out of my back garden for him so then he could have the moon, stars & earth which he thought was funny. God I love that mans chuckle.

We also asked him about Ozzie (named in his thank you’s on the album) and am pleased to report that this is his Irish Red Setter puppy who he wants us to give recognition to – however he does not want Snoopy forgotten because he is special too (5 minutes later & he was still going on about both dogs – understand what Shane means now lol)

Any way we had pics with Mark and then he said he would sign the photo of me & him taken at the Conrad – well he told me he had seen this picture before – he had it at home and that his mum was turning it into wallpaper – see the guy has quite a wicked sense of humour.

He was very impressed with the pics that Hilda showed him and was happy to sign one personally for Evadne & yes she got her hug.

As he walked away he said he wanted my camera – at first I thought he said something else. His friend decided to come out of the room & I was in fits because Mark chased him out to tell me that it was Colin Farrell’s brother – strange but due to how much he was giggling I didn’t quite believe him

Very happily we went back to the bar and sat talking to Dave again about life in general – sorry to any fans in there that we didn’t come screeching back to you about the guys but hey they are entitled to their privacy and to drink in peace. Back to the vodka – still hadn’t got it so made one final attempt to go get it again only this time was accosted by Marks friend who actually took me into their little drinking area.

Nicky asked me what I had done to my back & when I replied that I had tried “flying without wings” down my stairs he sorta choked & covered me in his beer but that is not the best part when I turned around Mark had my flag covering his face with his arms outstretched like a plane (very bloody funny guys) Decided to leave as wanted ciggie but happy to report Mark gave me his last one & yes the packet is safely tucked up in my knicker drawer.

Joined the dames again and decided to head up to bed but not before Mark’s friend Eddie had given me a big kiss goodnight and their other friend had given me a big big hug. Saw Mark again at the cigarette machine & bid him goodnight.( Dear Bex forgets to mention...He was at machine cos she scrounged his last smoke! Here is the evidence xx Hilda x )

This was one happy reporter now ready for her bed.

Got up the next day, bid fond farewell to Hilda & Evadne took me home. Girls it was fantastic – thank you so much – an experience I don’t think any of us will ever forget or we will ever come close to again but hey haven’t we got an invite in Sligo??????
