SHE'S THE ONE TV RECORDING

‘She’s the one’ - November 27th – 29th 2004

Day 2 – London Baby yeah – dreams come true.

Woke up quite early with an unexplainable urge to drink every bit of liquid in sight. Headed down for breakfast but alas I couldn’t face a thing. Now being as our room in the next hotel would not be ready til the afternoon we found ourselves changing into our ball gowns complete with trainers as we didn’t think we would have anywhere to change later. Arrived at new hotel after being ripped off by taxi driver – we did the same trip 3 times and each time it was a totally different price! Now we expected a long wait but they very kindly gave us a room as people in hotel must have thought we had just staggered in after a hardy night on the tiles. Changed back into jeans and decided to take a wander up Chelsea. We were looking for a cash point machine but for some reason we failed to spot one. We did however find a nice greasy café & decided to mop up our churning alcohol with a greasy fry up – best hangover cure ever invented.

Had a couple of conversations with friends who were waiting in the queue for the TV programme & informed them we would be there shortly. What a joke that was – we wandered back towards hotel but missed the turn and somehow ended up lost. It could only happen to us. Finally found hotel and got changed back into our gowns again!!!!

Met up with friends in hotel bar and headed off to get taxi’s. Now by this time I must admit I was getting a bit excited at the thought of us being on tv – obviously our lives would never be the same again as Hollywood producers would spot us and snap us up.

Spent the next 5 hours freezing outside a studio – ok so we did take shelter and stand by the heater but it was still cold. Would like to say that it was great to see old friends again & to also meet so many nice new ones. Gates finally opened and we all raced forwards. Only to get wet and to have to wait for another hour. We thought we had it made because we were in the front of the queue, however, when they let us in we were in fact in the back row. Now I am not complaining like some girl who wailed and sobbed did because over 27,000 people applied for tickets and I just felt privileged to be there.

It was nothing like I expected and although I was having trouble with the strap on my dress it really was a fantastic experience. Jordan sounded like mickey mouse on helium though but apart from her everyone was fantastic. The dads were the highlight for me because they were totally stars. All too soon though it was over and time for us to leave.

Now in the queue a few girls had said they wouldn’t mind going to a certain hotel for a drink afterwards so that is what we decided to do.

We were sat there enjoying ourselves when the gorgeous Jodi Albert turned up in the bar. Well we had to be polite and chat to her and what a buzz to realize that she remembered me from last year. This girl is so down to earth and lovely that I cannot believe she is so unliked by the fans. Next in walked Jake with Beverley and I did expect him to ignore us but he never – much to the amusement of all those who were with us.

Kian soon turned up and although people went to have photos with him I decided to chat to his dad instead. What an absolute star he was – different to the Belfry (wink). I had a picture took with him then turned around to get a kiss of Nicky’s father – the charmer that he is.

After a while I headed to the toilet where I was surprised to find Mark & Nicky having a rather colourful discussion. Smiled sweetly at them both and Mark asked how I was and said I looked stunning in my dress. He then muttered something about the police, Dave & letting the others know and Nicky disappeared into the gents. Timing it perfectly I came out at the same time and Nicky did in fact sign something for me saying how good I looked. He then informed me he was gonna dodge all the fans & sprinted off like a greyhound. Bless him – cant he move.

Some girls stopped me on the way back in to see if I would take their pics with Mark – after seeing the mood he was in I did actually decline to start with but I did take one for someone off our table. He was very polite as usual but you could tell that he didn’t want to talk to anyone and I soon found out why. I had joked Jake about having a picture and whilst I was talking to Mark, Jake did in fact come over and ask me if he could have a word. I joked with Mark that he had been pestering me for a picture and he laughed whilst I posed with Mr Duncan. I can honestly say I don’t think I have ever had my arse gripped so tightly but never mind. I was then asked if I had witnessed anything earlier on in the evening so finally I knew why the lads were not at all happy.

Any way re-joined my table and was sat minding the handbags whilst the girls took photos when Kian walked past. Had a brief chat with him & got something signed for my cousin. We didn’t really take much more notice of the lads after that but we did carry on partying til 4am. Upon leaving the hotel we posed for the usual pictures – stole everything removable off the Christmas tree and headed out into the cold night air.

Now a small walk which should have taken all of 5 minutes took over an hour to complete. Traffic cones – bushes – road blocks – you name it we did it!!!! And yes there are indeed pictures to prove it.

Finally made it into the reception of our hotel much to the amusement of the night staff. We decided it was too early to go to bed so we got them to turn the music up and we had our own private party in reception.

Finally decided to crawl to our room and think we crashed out within seconds. We got up quite late for us the next day as most of the people in our hotel had in fact left – we soon found them though drinking coffee in the posh hotel. We didn’t see anyone although I am pretty sure it was Kerry in reception but her hair was dark & we didn’t recognize her.

Made our way back to the greasy café & stuffed our faces – then left for the train station. Sat having a coffee watching the “she-man” then homeward bound jumped on my train. Poor Hilda still had to get across the tubes to her station but she is a tough cookie & I knew she would be ok.

Train journey home was long & very tiring and time seemed to stand still as it seemed to take hours. Finally arrived back in sunny old Herefordshire to be met by my hubby who sat in car and watched me struggle with bags.Something's never change do they?
