'The couple have bought a €1.5 million house, in Abington in Malahide on Dublin’s Northside'
NICKY BYRNE
Nicky
has confirmed that he and his girlfriend Georgina Ahern have bought a house
together outside Dublin. Nicky told the Irish tabloid, the Star, "It's just
outside Dublin near Ashbourne and I'm just finishing off all the legal stuff
this week. I hope to move in within the next month please God if everything goes
as planned. It cost me just under £750,000 (about $1.1 million) but I'm really
happy with it because it's surrounded by a couple of acres and has very good
security. We've been together for six years so I think she will be with me in
the new house. At least I hope she will, I've still got to ask her mother,
Miriam!" - 19th January 2001

Nicky is also the proud owner of a brand new home in Co. Meath, near Dublin. The traditionalist style building has two acres of gardens and lots of high walls and fences around it so it should be just the right place to grab a bit of peace and quiet away from the world of pop! Nicky told the Irish Star tabloid "Georgina and I have been together for 6 years now so hopefully she will be with me in the new house...at least I hope she will, I still have to ask her mother, Miriam!"

Having gone out with Georgina for eight years, what took you so long to propose?

Nicky: "To be honest, I needed to know that the
time was right for both of us. Three years ago we bought a house just outside
Dublin, not knowing how long the band would last or how successful it would
become. We settled in, but both of us knew it wasn’t really where we wanted to
stay for the rest of our lives. Realistically, we knew we wanted to move back to Malahide,
where Georgina grew up. Then just before Christmas we splashed out on this
beautiful three-storey, five-bedroom Georgian house there which is everything
we’ve ever dreamed of.

NB: My house. It cost £2.5million. It is a dream come true. It has 20 rooms but we tend to stay in the kitchen and one of the sitting rooms. I always wanted a full-size snooker table so I have a boys basement with a bar and
Playstation.
