Right, well as we were taking a break from rehearsals we got hit with yet more work to do for the site and not only did we have to write about it, the dames insisted we tried it. So here ya go, the alphabet of tea tree oil Shane style… with a little help from my friends...
SUGGESTIONS
A ACNE/ABRASIONS/ATHLETES FOOT
For acne Apply a few drops or oil or wash with a tea tree oil soap. Wash once to cleanse, then again, allowing the lather to dry before rinsing and leaving to dry naturally. Applying a drop or two of oil can treat abrasions and Gravel rash. Putting one between each toe twice daily treats athlete’s foot. We made Nix try this as he wears the most make-up and has the most zits – Bex has gravel rash from Mark’s garden & it is clearing it up nicely. What do we put between our toes?
B BOILS/BEE STRINGS
For boils apply two or three drops and cover with plaster. Repeat regularly. Bee stings- one or two drops of oil place immediately on the sting will neutralize sting and remove pain. We should have had this last year to remove the pain – oops sorry Brian left didn’t he. Let Mark try it cause he is waspy in the mornings.
C CUTS/COUGHS
Oil can be applied directly to small cuts after cleansing. Then cover the wound. Coughs – add four drops of oil to warm water and gargle. Dame Hilda is good at gargling Vodka so we made her try this and that chesty cough she had has now disappeared (hiding the fags helped)
D DANDRUFF
Wash hair with a gentle shampoo with 2-3 drops or tea tree oil. Kian tried this to see if it replenished his roots but unfortunately it didn’t help the slap head
E EARS
Dipping earring hooks in oil before wearing will prevent infection and irritation often caused by impure metals. Nicky refused point blank to trying this cause he only wears diamonds the puff – however Gillian tried it and the earrings I got her a few years ago didn’t hurt her at all
F FUNGAL INFECTION/FOOT ODOUR
Apply thinly to eczemas fingernails or other fungal infections. Feet-two drops in each shoe will combat foot odour. One of the lads and I aint saying who tried this on the armpit of his t-shirt but it still failed, didn’t it Mark?
G GARGLE
Gargle 4 to 5 drops in a cup of water two or three times daily for mouth problems, bad breath or sore throat. Nix tried this and he now sings like Aled Jones.
H HYGIENE
Add a few drops of oil to the bath or use daily tea tree oil soap. Be careful how ya get in though cause I slipped
I ITCHY SKIN/IRRITATION /INFECTIONS
Using tea tree oil soap can relieve itchy skin and irritation. Applying oil to small cuts and abrasions can prevent infection. The only infection any of us have ever had could not be treated with this but it does work on eczema
J JOINT PAIN
Joint pains can be relieved by dotting stiff joints with oil or add to a base oil for a massage. Or by resting – that is why Mark never aches
L LACERATIONS/LAUNDRY
Lacerations can be cleansed regularly with water and tea tree oil. Laundry- a few drops in the washing machine disinfects the wash and kills bacteria. It doesn’t soften my sweaters like Lenor does so I wont be trying that again.
M MUSCLES/MOUTH WASH
A few drops of tea tree oil with a base oil made into a massage oil can be used with massage to relieve strained muscles. Oil in the bath before and after exercise will relieve tired muscles. Mouth ulcers- use cotton wool to apply oil directly to ulcer. Leave for two minutes. Repeat daily and gargle ˝ cup warm water containing five drops or oil five times daily. We made Dave try this cause he has muscles but when we asked for an opinion all we got was a glare and a grunt.
N NOSE CONGESTION/NAPPIES
Inhaling the steam from hot water containing a few drops of tea tree oil can relieve nose congestion. Nappies-soak and wash with a few drops of oil. Use a tea tree oil soap for baby’s nappy rash. Have made a special note of this for when we become daddies – you can also use vic as it does the same thing, not on babies obviously
O OILY SKIN
Oily and spot prone skin will benefit from daily washing with tea tree oil soap. Wash and rinse twice then leave skin to dry naturally. I tried this as I have travelling skin so to speak which gets prone to pimples and may I say it worked
P PET CARE
Wash pets with tea tree oil soap to promote shiny healthy coats and give a natural antiseptic skin protection of your pet. Only two people/pets could try this so Bex & Mark washed Shadow & Ozzy & as we haven’t seen them since, we can only guess they are still blow drying them. Oh Kian said Bex is blowing & Mark is happy with that
R RASHES /REVITALISE
Rashes can be bathed in water containing tea tree oil. Relax with a few drops in the bath to revitalize you when you are rundown. How to ya get the rash off to get it to have a bath?
S SUNSPOTS
Sunspots can be removed by rubbing one drop of oil onto the spot regularly. Would need a gallon to remove them off someone like Chris Evans then
T THROAT PAIN /TOOTHACHE
For throat pain gargle five drops in a cup of warm water. Toothache-apply oil to sore teeth and gums. All this talk of gargling again. You could always try a dentist.
U UNPLEASANT BREATHE
Bad breath is remedied by using 2-3 drops of oil and wash in mouth daily. Not much good if ya are going out to have a curry & a few beers cause ya breath will stink again.
Right, well I hope we have been of some use to you all – do they do coffee tree oil as well? Take care - Catch ya soon xx Shane
